Kapa Haka blog post

 Kapa Haka Festival

Kapa haka performance

where at the Kapa Haka Festival and I already feel so nervous. When we went on stage my pupu wiggled like jelly when  I was moving. We started really good with the makeup because makeup felt so cold when the wind went through it like a ghost. I finally got my confidence to lead this bracket like I have never before done.I was so exited because my mum was there and she was recording the performance so my dad could see it. The boys did there haka so strongly my feet almost jumped.

It was like a earthquake that didn't stop until the end of the boys haka. Aue rona was so cool because the girls poi were looking like they were swinging through the soft air. When the boys started to come off I could here everybody cheering and clapping it sounded so exquisite. Finally we got off stage and we had to watch everybody beautifully perform before the wai and nui.

They finally came on there poi was so beautiful there poi were like a bird flying through the air. At the end of there performance we got up and sang tu mai ra with them and the crowd was so happy they were cheering and clapping and so cheerful and that was the end of our performance.

CRAFT FAIR DAY!!!!

Craft Fair Day!!!

Everybody's getting ready for the craft fair and i can't believe that it's in an hour after school. Think about all the cool stuff and maybe delicious stuff I was so excited that i couldn't even hold my pen that i was drawing with at home. It was in 5 minutes and i could not wait. It was suddenly 4:00 o'clock and i said to my parents that we could go now and they said "ok lets go" and so we went. We arrived and i could already smell the nachos they had.

I told my mum "Can you smell the nachos" and she said "yes i can". I was so excited my mum gave me 20 dollars to spend at the craft fair.I was fine with that because i didn't want to spend any money but I guess i could spend the money on something at the craft fair. We had a look around and we saw RM5 selling books,RM4 selling kites/manu taratahi,RM1 selling plants and macrame there were alot more stuff but we didn't really get there but we stopped looking and started to buy some stuff.

Well I mean I started to buy some stuff but first I wanted to look for my friends. Once we found them at the big bouncy castle I ran to them and don't tell anybody but me and my friends went on it for free because Kyla-Roses mum was the bouncy castle person and collecting the tickets and we asked her if I could go on for free and her mum said yes.

So I quickly jumped on and it was great at the start but then where the slide ladder was to climb I literally got blocked and then squished and someone stepped on me and ok a lot more happened in the bouncy house but i forgot I know that I got belted in there tho. It was heroic in there I felt like i was in hell. After that me and my mum went to have a look at the clothes and then we got my dad a burger and then I said bye to my friends and then left.

Athletics day!

 !ATHLETICS DAY!

GO!!!! “Koka Rozie said out loudly”. I ran  as fast as I could and it paid off because I came 4th. I was very proud of myself. Our next rotation was long jump and then we had a high jump. I was second in line and when it was my turn I just went for it and hoped for the best.

Bang!!! I hit the ground and my head almost hit the ground. But I stayed strong and moved to the back of the line. I did get hurt but I wanted to do the best for my house color. After we all did our jumps next was high jump.

High jump was my least favorite sport but I still gave it a shot. I jumped and surprisingly I made it. I hit the bar a little bit but it stayed. Our next rotation was the 200 meter run. I was excited and scared but I knew I would do good.

Another surprise I did was when I got 4th place again, but I was proud of myself for what I have and what I got.   After athletics we had a sausage sizzle and ice cream. Now that was delicious I have to say. Thanks to athletics day because that boosted my confidence for speeches.

Bee -Bot Activity Challenge

There was a challenge that we had to make clear instructions for the bee bot to follow. There weren't that many arrows to push for your bee bot.The buttons it had on it were up,down, left and right. After we wrote our instructions and checked it with Koka Jo we made our track for the bee bots.

The track was so when we were pressing the buttons that the bee bots had to go in we made it go in that direction. The teacher gave all of us some advice on how we could make it better if we could improve on it. But another thing that we had to do was that we had to press the arrows in the directions your instructions said.

It was very difficult for some of us because we had to make each space 15cm because that is how long the bee bots move each and every space. I say that was so fun and creative of everyone Kia Kaha Kia Manawanui!

TUaHInE LigHthOusE MetAphOR

Last week we were learning about google drawing on our chromebook and the Tuahine lighthouse. Once we all learned how to make one we got the chance and tried to make a replica of the Tuahine lighthouse but on our chromebooks. We also learned how to make a link on our google drawing of the Tuahine lighthouse. I made a link in my picture of the Tuahine lighthouse. The link is called  always shine like a bright light.

The reason I picked to say I always shine like a bright light is because Lighthouses shine a bright light to lead any boat to their direction and so they can come to shore. Another reason that I chose that sentence is because kids at this school shine there way to shore.

Bee Bots Activity Time!!

My turn with the bee bots in reading time

First we got these squares on a piece of paper. Koka Rozie told us to draw what we saw in the book like a jungle or an animal. Second thing we did we had to cut out the squares and get a bee bot. A bee bot is a robot that has these arrows on them and if you press one of the buttons like right and then hit go it would move the way you pushed the button in that direction. That is what a bee bot is, some of us learned what they were from Makey Makey in LTP. Once we finished we cut out all our squares and put them in a pile while either waiting for a grid to be free or waiting for the tape so we could make another grid.

The grid weas for the squares and the bee bots. The bee bots had to be on the grid because the squares inside of the grids were for the bee bots to turn and move around. The squares were for when we drew all the places we had to put them anywhere around the grid. Then we had to get a bee bot and press the buttons for the directions it would go in. When I tried it went forward 4 times then left 1 time then forward 2 times.

Once we pressed the button direction we wanted them to go we pressed go and then the teacher told us to not touch the bee bots and let them try to figure out where you actually wanted it to go. But sometimes it wouldn't work you might have accidently pressed right instead of left or you could have pressed backwards so it went backwards. So sometimes you actually have to be careful of what button you press. When we practiced a lot most of us got it. Once we thought we got it all sorted out we asked our teacher if she could record it. And on that try when she was recording us we sometimes got it and sometimes not.

But that was ok if we didn't get it we just kept on doing it and practicing and once we all got it correct. We were all so happy that we noticed that we could connect the bee bots like a train, we actually learned from Raphi ,he is in our class. Once we got over being so proud of ourselves we did our karakia and went off to morning tea and that was it. Whoever is reading this thank you for taking the time to read this.

What do you think our next blog post will be about?
